Four days after the murder of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) member Farook, two more people have surrendered before the Coimbatore Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday.

The two people are Satham Hussain and Samsudeen. On Friday, M Ansardh, a resident of Podanur had surrendered in the same court. However, the Coimbatore police is yet to find the reason for the murder.

Farook’s relative Sajahan told The News Minute, “Police told us that the murder was carried out by Farook’s friends. Both Ansardh and Satham Hussain are Farook’s friends but we do not know Samsudeen. Police has told us that the accused in the case are finalized but the reason for murder is yet to ascertained.”

On Thursday Farook left his house at 11pm after he got a call. At the Ukkadam waste treatment plant road in Coimbatore, four people attacked him with knives. He tried to escape by running away from the place, but the gang had come in an auto and two-wheeler, so, they caught him and stabbed him in his stomach. They also hacked his neck. Hearing his cries for help, people came running to help him, but the gang had fled the place by then.

Farook was an atheist and had rigid principles and ideologies, according to reports. Police had told Times of India that Farook was the group admin of a few WhatsApp groups, and that he posted rationalist views on WhatsApp as well as his Facebook page. Police suspect that his anti-Muslim sentiments might have made some people furious and led to the murder.

Speaking to The News Minute, Amalraj, Commissioner of Police, said, “We are questioning many people and the investigation is still in process. We have a few ideas but we are yet to find the exact reason for the murder,” he said.
