Two Chennai girls die in wall collapse at school

Two class 8 girl students died and another was injured when a wall in their school in Besant Nagar, Chennai collapsed on Monday, police said. The injured girl was admitted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment. The accident happened at TVR Girls Higher Secondary School. Though the three girls who were stuck under the debris after the wall near which they were playing collapsed were taken to the hospital, two of them, Monisha and Nandhini, were declared dead on arrival, reported New Indian Express. The state government has announced a solatium of Rs.300,000 to the family to two girls (Nandhini and Monisha) who died in the accident. It also said it would bear the entire medical expenses of the injured girl Sandhya and advanced a sum of Rs.30,000 as part of the expenditure. With inputs from IANS
