The News Minute | July 27, 2014 | 10:55 am IST Stray animals have been a cause of equal concern and controversy over the years. However, they also happen to be a part of most developing nations and thus cannot be sidelined. An organisation’s recent innovation shows how little steps can make a huge difference. In a bid to help stray animals by encouraging recycling simultaneously, Pugedon, a Turkish company, has introduced a vending machine of sorts that takes in plastic bottles and dispenses food for stray animals. The machine, that operates free of cost, releases kibbles at the bottom when someone puts a bottle at the top, states a report by Big Think. The cost of the food is covered by the recycled bottles. Istanbul is said to have some 150000 stray animals. This move focuses on encouraging recycling habits among people and also generating awareness about stray animals. Watch this video to see how the machine works.
