On Sunday, the Crime Branch of the Delhi police filed an FIR against AIADMK Deputy General Secy TTV Dhinakaran and conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar for attempting to bribe officials of the Election Commission of India in order to get the ‘two-leaves’ symbol allotted to his camp.

The FIR was filed against TTV and Sukesh under various sections of the IPC including 120B (Criminal conspiracy), 170 (impersonating a public servant) and under Section 8 of The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

From posing as former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's grandson, to claiming to be YSR Reddy’s nephew, and a close friend of HD Deve Gowda’s family in Bengaluru, Sukesh, a notorious conman, has been cheating people for 10 years now

 According to the FIR filed by the Delhi police, which The News Minute has a copy of, Sukesh Chandrasekhar checked into Hotel Hyatt Regency, New Delhi and was staying in room no 263.

Delhi Police says he was constantly in touch with TTV Dhinakaran and had promised to use his influence in Election Commission of India to get the two-leaves party symbol matter resolved in favour of the Sasikala faction.

The FIR says Sukesh was promised a sum of Rs 50 crore in return for a favourable order. A large amount that was given to Sukesh by TTV Dhinakaran was recovered by the police.   

The FIR describes how members of the Delhi Police team went to the Hyatt Hotel at 1:30 in the morning on April 16 and overpowered Sukesh in his room.

Rs 1 crore and 30 lakhs in bundles of new Rs 2000 notes was recovered from his room form a multicoloured bag.  

Police also seized a car, a Mercedes Benz which had “Member of Parliament” painted rear and front number plates.
