TRS MLC gives silver bangle, sherwani along with son’s wedding invitation several legislators and public representatives were in for a surprise on Monday, when they received a wedding invitation.
The invitation from TRS MLC Sabavat Ramulu Naik did not come alone. It came packed together, with a thick silver bangle and a 'sherwani'. The politician was extending invitation for his younger son's wedding.
Belonging to Banjara community, the TRS MLC and his aides defended the decision, stating that they were following the custom of the community.
The Banjara tribal community women wear silver bangles and ornaments, and it is part of their customs, to gift silver.
“It is a custom in our community. Not many people today may be following the custom, but it is a tradition in our community .My father is sticking to that tradition,” Narender Sabavat, son of Ramulu Naik told Times of India.
The TOI report also adds that the TRS MLC is reportedly planning a grand wedding for his younger son, on April 16 at Nizam College grounds in the city.
The MLC met with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, and handed him the first invitation for the wedding.
