The trailer of actor Jayam Ravi-starrer Tik Tik Tik, said to be Tamil cinema’s first space film, was released on Friday.

The movie has set the right kind of expectations with the trailer. With a neat screenplay and story, the film is expected to work well at the box-office. Interestingly, Tik Tik Tik is the title of a 1981 film starring Kamal Haasan.

Touted to be a race-against-time thriller, Tik Tik Tik has been produced by Hitesh Jhabak and directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan. It will also witness the second collaboration of Jayam Ravi and Shakti Soundar. Their first collaboration was the 2016 horror thriller Miruthan.

Tik Tik Tik which would be India’s first space exploration movie. Jayam Ravi places the role of M Vasu, who is a part of the Defence Space Division.

The film promises to be an intense thriller based on a space mission. The makers have spent a mammoth budget on space sets and special effects, and are very confident that it will strike a chord with the audience. There will be no romance or songs in the film. A major portion of the film was shot in Ooty, Kodaikanal and Chennai.

The film also stars Nivetha Pethuraj of Oru Naal Koothu fame, who is trained in jujutsu and kickboxing, Ramesh Tilak and Singapore actor Aaron Aziz, who is the main antagonist of the film. 

Tik Tik Tik also marks the acting debut of Jayam Ravi's son Aarav, who will play his son on screen as well.

According to sources, Aarav won’t feature in a blink-and-you-miss kind of role, but in fact has a substantial one.

The production also reunites Shakti with his Miruthan composer D Imman, and Venkatesh will be the cinematographer for the film.
