The Tovino Thomas-starrer Theevandi has gone on floors amidst a lot of expectations. The film, directed by debut director Fellini, has been scripted by Vini Viswalal. Interestingly, he had also penned the script of Koothara, a hit film that had Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas playing the lead roles.
The actor had earlier announced through his social media page that the shooting of Theevandi would commence in November, and that it was always fun to work with friends. The film is being bankrolled by one of the leading production houses in Mollywood, August Cinemas.
According to reports, the actor will be seen playing a lethargic chain smoker named Bineesh in Theevandi. Chandni Sreedharan will be playing the female lead in the film.
Tovino Thomas is one of the busiest actors in the tinsel town with a slew of films in his kitty, not just in Malayalam but in Tamil as well. The starâ€™s last release was Tharangam, and has the bilingual Abi & Anu (Tamil & Malayalam), Naam and Mayanadhi lined up, which are currently in post-production. Tovino recently replaced Prithviraj in Aami, and played a cameo in the film.
The films that he is currently working on include Maradona, Luka, Tick Tock, Oru Bhayangara Kamukan, an Untitled Basil Mammootty film, and Chengazhi Nambiar. He has also signed Tamil film Maari 2 in which he will be seen sharing screen space with Dhanush. Apart from these projects, he also has the multi-lingual film Hano 3D, which is touted to be released in Italian and Portuguese as well.
Tovino made his acting debut with the short film Grisaille in 2011, and has gone on to win several awards in his career since. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor â€“ Malayalam for his role in Ennu Ninte Moideen last year.
