   1. TN CM Jayalalithaa has strongly opposed certain provisions in the controversial land acquisition bill. In a letter to the PM, she made clear her position on the bill stating that the farmers in the state were opposed to it. She was one among the many CMs who stayed away from the Governing Council meet of NITI Aayog.  2. A woman, who had been denied a job because of her diabetes condition, has found backing from the Madras High Court. Stating that there was no evidence that a diabetic could not carry out duties in office, the HC directed the railway administration department to provide the woman her appointment order in eight weeks. 3. Making an appearance after ten days and quashing rumours of serious illness, TN CM Jayalalithaa visited the state secretariat and handed over appointment orders to 1,006 assistant professors of government arts and science colleges in TN.  4. A makeup artist has been arrested on charges of sexually exploiting children in Kodambakkam. He used to "lure" the boys using video games, and would then show them pornographic content. An NGO counselling children sounded the alarm after the stories came to light.  5. The Sun Group's application in the FM radio phase III auction has been rejected by the government. According to The Times of India, the bids have been rejected by an inter-ministerial committee due to the lack of security clearance.  6. Peeved with AAP leader Somnath Bharti’s style of working, a number of important members of AAP’s TN unit have quit. While members have alleged an autocratic style of functioning for reasons, Bharti has called the resignations as "attention seeking".
