Image for representation 1. After disappearing on Monday, an Indian Coast Guard Dornier aircraft carrying three personal on board is yet to be found. Radar logs of the missing craft has shown that it descended atleast 5,000 ft in a matter of over two minutes over the Karaikal coast. 2. Madras High Court takes the TN government to task over its recent termination order to a village health nurse just 18 days before her retirement, reported The Times of India. The termination order came 28 years after her appointment. The nurse had been removed for not possessing the minimum requirement SSLC passing qualification. 3. Tamil Nadu signs an agreement with the Adani Group over the set up of a 200 MW solar power plant in Ramanathapuram at an investment cost of nearly Rs 1400 crore. The group is also in talks with the government over the set up of a 1000 MW solar plant in TN. 4. Over concerns of excessive use of pesticides in fruit and vegetable farms in Tamil Nadu, the state agricultural department has made plans to impose curbs on its sale. From now on, private stores and local agricultural officers would have to be shown prescriptions by farmers to make purchases. 5. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa writes to PM Narendra Modi over Kerala’s request for the approval of a new dam at Mullaperiyar. In a letter, she wrote that the approval to conduct an environmental assessment study for the new dam was a “gross violation” of a Supreme Court order on the same.
