 1. A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by three men at a farm house owned by former MLA Basavaraj in Alur taluk in Hassan district. The girl was allegedly kidnapped on July 7 and was found abandoned on July 10 outside her house. The girl who complained of stomach pain was taken to hospital by her parents where the doctors found out that she was raped. The police have taken the main accused into custody and are looking out for two other accused.  2. A team of CBI officials on Wednesday arrested Congress MLA from Bellari district, Anil Lad, on charges of allegedly exporting iron ore illegally from Belekeri port. The CBI was conducting an investigation based on a Supreme Court order and found that Anil Lad was a partner in the company it was investigating against. 3. The illegal kidney racket that the Ramnagar police recently busted is believed to be an extension of the previous racket that was unearthed in Magadi, Ramnagar and Nelmangala in 2012. The police have arrested eight people so far in connection with this.  4. A prestigious all-women's college in Bengaluru has decided to open its door for male students. Bangalore University has given nod to Mount Carmel College's application to admit boys for its post-graduate courses from the next academic year. On the contrary, the college may have to withdraw any grants that is meant for an all-women's college.  5. A BMTC bus driver was arrested on Wednesday after it was found that he had 66 cases of traffic law violation against him since May 2014. MA Chandrappa was arrested by the police when he refused to move his bus which was blocking the road. When the police decided to slap a case against him, they realised that he already had a history of cases and are now considering impounding his license.
