 1. Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao who had directed the Central Crime Branch (CCB) to probe allegations of corruption in Lokayukta, on Sunday reconsidered his decision and asked the state government to appoint any other independent agency to investigate the case. 2. The 10-day monsoon session is all set to begin at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi from Monday. However, the session is likely to be disrupted due to growing agitation from the Opposition and farmers who are demanding the payment of due to sugarcane growers.  3. The Lokayukta police filed two FIRs against BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa in the denotification of land scam, bringing the total tally  to 15. They also filed an FIR against JD(S) MLA H D Kumaraswamy for denotifying land during his tenure as the chief minister. 4. Uncertainty looms large over BBMP polls even as the State Election Commission declared July 28 as the date of polling. The State government is considering appealing against it. In addition, the Karnataka SC-ST Development Corporation is all set to approach the Supreme Court against the ward reservation list. 5. With increase in rains and occasionally accompanied by wind, the froth situation in Bellandur lake near Yemlur and Bellandur has worsened, posing a risk to motorists and reducing their visibility on the road. Industry effluents and untreated sewage continues to enter the lake unchecked.
