  1. The Karnataka High Court on Thursday directed the Lokayukta police not to arrest BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa in connection with the three FIRs filed against him in the alleged denotification of land scam from 2007-2011, until next hearing. However, the HC refused to stay the investigation against him.    2. Members of the State BJP on Thursday led a delegation to Governor Vajubhai Vala urging him to advise the government to hand over the Lokayukta internal corruption probe to the CBI. The memorandum stated that as the alleged involvement of the son of Lokayukta Y Bhaskar Rao had surfaced, the credibility of the institution was damaged.    3. A commando attached to the Internal Security Division (ISD) was killed, and another injured  on Thursday when a gun was triggered accidentally at the Centre for Counter Terrorism campus. A case of culpable homicide has been booked against the commando whose gun misfired.    4. JD(S) MLA MT Krishnappa on Thursday tabled a private bill in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday seeking the abolition of the Legislative Council, calling it a "white elephant" and a "rehabilitation centre" for politicians who lost elections and for lobbyists.   5. The spate of farmer suicides continued  as three more debt-ridden farmers committed suicide on Thursday in various parts of the state. The state has been witnessing rising farmer suicides due to increasing debt, failure of crops and non-payment of dues by sugar factories.
