1. Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra on Tuesday said that the Telugu Desam Party would pressurize the Centre to declare Hyderabad as a Union Territory. Speaking to reporters in Vijayawada, he also added that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's attitude left them with no alternative but to demand the implementation of section 8 of the AP Regorganisation Act. Narasimhan on Tuesday met President Pranab Mukherjee in two seperate meetings in Hyderabad. They are understood to have discussed the latest developments in the cash-for-vote scam, phone tapping and section 8 of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Naidu spent nearly half-an-hour with Mukherjee in what officials described, "a courtesy call." Read more 3. Rama Rao dressed as Krishna in the Godavari waters or at the ghats at Rajahmundry on the occasion of Pushkaralu. Bike riders who step out today must wear helmets as the road transport authority has made protective head gear compulsory from July 1. In a statement issued earlier in Vijaywada, RTA officials urged the people to get helmets by the end of June and added that failing to do so would result in a fine, Times of India reports. 5. Taking a cue from the program for a clean Ganga, Kanchi junior seer Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamy said that the State government should take necessary measures to clean Godavari too as it is one of the ancient rivers and has a special mention even in Ramayana.
