The Vaitheeswaran koil in Nagapattinam district had a unique visitor , which left many temple-goers rather astonished.Priests at the Badrakali Amman temple within the same compound as the Vaitheeswaran temple were surprised to see a monkey sitting inside, just in front of the god, as if in prayer.According to Vikatan, the monkey remained undisturbed inside the area, and did not leave the temple late into the night. At night, when the priests finally had to lock up and go, they had to leave the monkey behind as it refused to move. The next morning, the priests returned to find the monkey still inside. According to reports, the monkey spent four days in the temple, however, exactly when the incident occured is not known. Widely circulated on whatsapp and other social media, the video was uploaded on July 20.However, what was more surprising was that it appeared as if the monkey had tears in its eyes. Along with the public, even the monkey took prasad after the pooja. Though bananas and other fruits were placed nearby for consumption, the monkey only took a little to eat.
