A construction worker died of a heart attack in a theatre at Siddipet in Telangana while watching a Telugu horror-comedy film on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Shaikh Shadul, a 28-year-old construction worker.

He was reported to have purchased a Rs 10 ticket, for a Third Class seating in Srinivas theatre. He had come alone to watch the Allari Naresh starrer Intlo Deyyam Nakem Bhayam.

No one noticed when Shadul collapsed, and it was only after the lights were switched on for the interval that people sitting nearby noticed him unconscious.

Shadul did not respond to people trying to wake him up. People also noticed that he had urinated in his pants. They then informed the theatre management, who shifted him to a government hospital.

The New Indian Express reported that doctors declared the reason for the death, to be a heart attack.

After the incident, his family members staged a protest in front of the theatre, demanding compensation. The management pacified the protestors saying that it would take up the issue with the film producer and distributor.

A similar incident happened in October 2015, when a 55-year-old private tuition teacher died while watching a Telugu horror film Raju Gari Gadi.
