In a horrifying incident in Telangana, a 34-year-old man was allegedly beheaded by his own relative on Tuesday after a tiff over a job between the duo.

The police said that the deceased, identified as C Raju, was hired as a village resource assistant after the death of his father, much to the displeasure of his relative, Chinna Venkatanna, who also wanted the job.

As the government had increased the salary of the job to Rs 10,000, the police said that a jealous Chinna brought a sickle and confronted Raju.

"Accused Chinna Venkatanna had asked Raju to leave the job as he wanted to replace him. After Raju rejected his proposal, Chinna hacked him to death in Ryalampadu village within the limits of Dhuroor police station," the police was quoted as saying.

A case was registered under Section 302 (Murder) of the IPC and the body was shifted to the local government hospital for postmortem.

This is the second incident this month in Telangana where a man has been hacked to death in broad daylight.

On June 1, a man identified as Mahboob Pasha was brutally murdered on National Highway 65 near Rudraram village in Sangareddy district, by three unidentified assailants who fled the scene on a motorcycle after the crime. Police suspected gang rivalry and a revenge plot in the murder.

Traffic came to a halt because of the murder and onlookers witnessed the brutal murder in shock, even as  some captured the incident on their phones.

According to police, the victim, a resident of Bholakpur in Hyderabad, is a prime accused in the murder of one Arshad Hussain in Patancheru a couple of years ago. They suspect that Arshad’s gang must have taken revenge for the murder.
