The Telangana BJP has lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, for his recent statement on visiting the Gulf nations and requesting migrants from the state, who were working in those countries, to return home.
In a statement, T R Sriniwas, BJP NRI Gulf Coordination Committee Chairman, said that KCR should first settle the issues of the state, before thinking of issues outside the state.
Dubbing it an 'eyewash', Sriniwas said, "There is no sign of the Telangana NRI policy ,which was promised in the first term. What does KCR have to say about that? Where are the 1,00,000 jobs promised on the eve of Telangana formation? We don’t see anything done for this in the first term."
"Is KCR aware that Hyderabad, which he promised to make better that Dallas in the United States, becomes Venice with just five minutes of rains? Why is there no work being taken up to boost the infrastructure in Hyderabad? Why is it crumbling at breakneck speed?" Sriniwas asked.
The BJP also alleged that it was a 'diversionary tactic', to distract from the ongoing strike of RTC workers in the state, who have been demanding that the state government pay their dues.
"KCR plans to give jobs to those who are coming back to Telangana, but then why is there no money to give a hike to 48,000 RTC employees? Is this not a diversionary tactic from the current set of problems our state is facing?" Sriniwas asked.
The BJP also found fault with the Telangana Chief Minister for failing to act on illegal agents, who exploit people from the state, and send them to the gulf countries.
"Overall, Chief Minister KCR's trip to Dubai will be a further strain on the state exchequer, with no concrete results visible for the future," the BJP said.
