Akhil Akkineni’s debut film may have turned out to be a dud at the box office but the Akkineni fans haven’t written him off as yet.
After waiting for nearly two years and after numerous discussions, his second film went on to the floors early this year. Expectations are high on his upcoming film Hello which is due for release on December 22, to cash in on the long Christmas weekend.
The film was supposed to go on to the floors last year but Akhil’s father, Nagarjuna, had suggested some major changes to the script.
Meanwhile, the makers of Hello have released the teaser poster for the film which has created a buzz around it.
From the poster, it is evident that the Akkineni boy will be seen in an all-new avatar. Decked up in full racing gear, Akhil can be seen on a racing bike. In the backdrop, the line ‘TEASER RELEASING SOON’ makes it clear that the teaser would be released officially very soon.
It may be noted here that talks about this film surfaced last year but it eventually went on to the floors early this year. Apparently, Akhil’s dad and actor Nagarjuna, who is also bankrolling this film under his own banner Annapurna Studios, wanted the director make some changes to the script before its commencement, which was the reason behind its delay, say sources.
Written and directed by Vikram Kumar, Hello has Akhil Akkineni and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles. The film will mark Kalyani Priyadarshan’s debut as heroine. It may be noted here that she is the daughter of the ace filmmaker Priyadarshan and actor Lizzy Priyadarshan.
Touted to be a romantic action entertainer, the film has music by Anup Rubens with PS Vinod being the cinematographer.
The first look poster of Hello was released in August this year and it went viral immediately. In it, Akhil is seen standing upside down on a parapet wall of a skyscraper indicating that he has done a lot of risky scenes.
