A man from Tiruvannamalai was arrested for the third time for practicing medicine without having proper qualification.

On Wednesday, Suresh (30), a construction worker from Aradapattu village near Veraiyur went to a quack, named Arun (46), for a leg injury and he gave him an injection. In a few hours, he swooned and was rushed to Tiruvannamalai Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead, reported The New Indian Express.

Based on the information given by the family, a special team led by Tiruvannamalai Joint Director of Medical and Rural Health Service N Rajendran, tehsildar and deputy superintendent of police raided the clinic and found that Arun had not even completed an MBBS degree.

He was running a clinic prescribing allopathic medicines for several years. The team also seized medicines, injections vials and saline bottles kept in a house. Rajendran told The New Indian Express that he was arrested twice on similar charges in the past. Moreover, he also prescribed siddha and homeopathy medicines.

Arun has been booked under Section 420 (cheating) of the IPC. A police officer said that the FIR will be altered after the autopsy report shows the cause of death, reports The New Indian Express.
