The Indian government today released a list of all cities to be developed as ‘smart cities’ in the coming years. In total, 98 cities have been named with two more cities yet to be announced.
From the 5 south Indian states, 24 cities have been selected.
Of the 24, 12 are from Tamil Nadu alone.
While AP has been allotted 3 cities and Telangana got 2, Karnataka has been allotted 5 cities. Kerala will have only one smart city, in Kochi.
