The News Minute| June 6, 2014|  Grief does render us weak, and at times affects our ability to make judgments. Surprisingly, grief can also turn you blind, even confuse you about the person you are grieving. The sudden demise of BJP leader and Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in Narendra Modi’s cabinet Gopinath Munde, shook the party to the core. So, it was only routine when the Kanchipuram wing of the BJP in Tamil Nadu decided to put up posters of the late leader in the state in his honour and remembrance. One look at the poster, and you’d know what a perfect obituary reads like. “A senior leader of our passed away, we are in mourning”, reads the poster; a beaming picture of a leader beside it. The makers of the poster just missed a tiny detail. The picture in the poster is not of the late Mr Munde. It is of Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithvi Raj Chavan. So Do Munde and Chavan share features that is confused the TN BJP? Or perhaps they fancied Chavan way too much.
