One of the world’s largest startup events Slush has partnered with Hyderabad-based startup catalyst T-Hub to host ‘Small Talks’, an event aimed at boosting the relationship between Indian and European startup ecosystems.

Slush is a student-driven, non-profit movement, which facilitates meetings between investors and startups, which holds event across the globe. This is the first time it will be hosting an event in India. According to Slush, the aim is to help the Indian tech entrepreneurs to connect with top-tier investors, partners and media, both on local and global level. The events hosted by Slush are more informal in nature, often looking more like a fest, rather than regular networking event.

Small Talks will see entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, executives of major technology companies from across the world networking in a not-so-formal environment. According to T-Hub, the theme for the first Small Talks in India will revolve around growth and user acquisition. There will be panel discussions, talks and informal chats revolving around branding, choosing a new market, leading a team, scaling an engineering team, etc.

What's in it for startups?

Globally successful founders will be present to talk about growth, scaling and customer acquisition.

They will also have access to sessions with Tata and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). Most importantly, for any startup or aspiring entrepreneur, this is an opportunity to connect with potential investors, mentors and peers in an informal event, paving the way for great networking.

IInvestors such as 50K ventures, Bitkemy, Anthill, Sri Capital, 3one4 Capital, Endiya, among others will be present at the event.

Corporates such as Tata, PwC, Sodexo and UTC will also be at the event.

Those attending and speaking at Small Talks includes Peter Vesterbacka is a global entrepreneur from Finland with over 20 years of experience of building brands and communities. He was named one of the 100 most influential people on the planet in 2011 by Time magazine. Several startup ecosystem players from across Europe and India will be attending the event.

The Small Talks event will be twofold. The first part is an exclusive and invite-only reception, where executives and startup founders will have the opportunity to meet and mingle. The second part is slightly more informal where attendees will get to hear both stories from the emerging Indian startup ecosystem and from their European counterparts.

Top executives and VCs will share their thoughts on what is trending in terms of capital flows, deep tech, up-and-coming companies, successful CVC investments and collaborations between startups and larger companies.

The event will be taking place on November 22 in Hyderabad with passes for startups at Rs 5000 and Rs 10,000 for investors and corporates.
