If you were wondering why have not heard about the Indian phone maker Spice, the brand has just reappeared on the scene with a new smartphone, the Spice V801.

The phone comes with a 5-inch HD display with the screen resolution being 720x1280pixels and the protection to the screen surface is provided by a 2.5D curved glass.

A quad core MediaTek processor clocking a speed of 1.2GHz is the CPU and the OS is Android Nougat version 7.0. 3GB RAM and 16GB internal memory storage round up the basic specs on the performance side of the Spice V801. The storage can expand to 64GB by using a microSD card.

With regard to the camera, the front and rear sensors are identical 8MP and have LED flash support as well. The rear camera has the autofocus function and the front camera has been fitted with a wide-angle lens to facilitate better selfies.  

The battery is 2700mAh and all the connectivity options, including 4G VoLTE can be tapped with the Spice V801 smartphone.

Some of the special features highlighted by Spice, while launching the device for the Indian market include a fingerprint sensor that could unlock the phone in 0.1 second; the facility to operate two social media accounts (it’s a dual SIM phone) like WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter and users can customize the device to accept five fingerprints to create and operate five different profiles/accounts on the same phone.

The phone is already out in the market and is priced at Rs 7, 999. So, the Spice V801 joins the huge line up of smartphones in the entry level segments and has to compete with all of them. The phone is being sold through offline retail outlets.
