A special aircraft will soon connect Bengaluru and Mysuru so that foreign tourists can witness the famous Mysuru Dasara this year at lower prices. The ticket prices for the flight will start from Rs. 999.

The 50-minute flight will serve as an alternative to the congested Mysuru-Bengaluru highway for visitors who wish to witness the Mysuru Dasara celebrations. The flight will be operational from October 10 to 19 and will be launched by Karnataka's Department of Tourism, along with the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC).

This comes after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by KSTDC with Alliance Air, a subsidy of Air India, to operate the flight to and from Mysuru connecting Bengaluru. The flight will depart from Bengaluru every day except Tuesday at 2:10 pm and arrive in Mysuru at 3 pm. The Alliance Air flight will take off from Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) instead of the HAL airport. The flight will depart from Mysuru at 3:30 pm and arrive back in Bengaluru at 4:20 pm.

The flight tickets will be available at different price brackets: Rs 1,200; Rs 1,500; Rs 1,800 and Rs 2,100.The tickets are available on all online websites.

In the past two years, the Department of Tourism had operated the seven-seater Cessna aircraft, also called Akash Ambari, from the Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) airport in Bengaluru. However, due to the number of tourists thronging Mysuru to witness Dasara celebrations, the 72-seater Alliance Air was deemed more useful this year.

TruJet, another 72-seater flight, is currently operating Mysuru-Chennai-Hyderabad flight starting with the base price of Rs. 999. However, the price is expected to go up during the Dasara season.

Meanwhile, trains between Bengaluru and Mysuru take up to three hours of travel time and the KSRTC is set to ply 175 additional buses between Bengaluru and Mysuru. Additional buses will also be added from neighbouring divisions.
