It is common for filmmakers to release a teaser or trailer of their films to pique the curiosity of fans. But Kannada actor Ganesh went a step further by releasing scenes as a ‘sneak peek’ from his upcoming film Gimmick. The sneak peek, starring Ganesh, Ronica Singh, Guru Dutt and others, was released recently on YouTube and has gone viral among netizens.

The sneak peek was unveiled on the official page of Anand Audio and a song was also released as part of the promotions. Touted to be a horror comedy, Gimmick is directed by Naganna. A major portion of the film has been shot at a house in Sri Lanka with some portions filmed in Mysuru and Bengaluru. It may be noted here that Gimmick is Ganesh’s first attempt at the horror comedy genre and his fans are waiting eagerly to see the outcome.

The film is bankrolled by Deepak Samidurai under his banner Samy Pictures. Gimmick will mark Ronica Singh’s debut in the Kannada film industry. Also starring in supporting roles in this flick are Guru Dutt, Ravishankar Gowda, Sadhu Kokila, Shobraj, Mandya Ramesh and others.

The technical crew comprises Arjun Janya for scoring music and Ravi Varma for choreographing the stunts. The film’s shooting has been wrapped up and the post-production is happening full swing. According to reports, Gimmick will hit the marquee in June and the date is currently being worked out by its makers.

While Gimmick is in the final stages of production, Ganesh has joined the sets of his upcoming film Geetha. The first schedule of this film was wrapped up recently. Bankrolled by Golden Movies, Geetha will mark the directorial debut of Vijay Nagendra.

Ganesh’s last release was 99, directed by Preetham Gubbi, a remake of the Tamil superhit film 96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. But the remake did not do as well as the original.
