Thanks to the controversy over Aamir Khan’s latest comment regarding “rising intolerance” in the country over the past few months, there has been an unexpected casualty – Snapdeal. Aamir is the e-retailer’s brand ambassador, and those who disagree with Aamir for his comments have now launched an online attack.
Snapdeal is witnessing a Twitter-onslaught with the hashtag #NoToSnapdeal getting popular on twitter, while #AamirKhan being the top trend in India on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, taking a dig at the ‘Award Wapsi’ trend recently of several writers and scientists returning their awards in protest of the government, an #AppWapsi trend is also doing the rounds.
Meanwhile, the app is also receiving a flurry of one star reviews on Google Play, the android app store. This is how the reviews page looked on the Snapdeal android app looks:

#AppWapsi for #AamirKhan makes a lot of sense. #SnapDeal, What are you waiting for? Good time to collect trust & complimentary branding.
