This is a year of many firsts for Siva, who made his plunge into film production with upcoming yet-untitled Tamil project, which marks the directorial debut of actor-lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj.

On Friday evening, Anirudh took to Twitter and wrote: “For the first time. Lyricist Sivakarthikeyan for you. Second single from Kolamavu Kokila from May 17th.”

Directed by Nelson Dillip Kumar, Nayanthara plays a simple girl who, when pushed into an unexpected situation, must fight for her own for survival. Co Co has music by Anirudh Ravichander who, according to various reports, is said to have played a cameo in the film. However, the makers recently clarified that Anirudh hasn’t acted in the film, slated to release later this year.

Currently busy wrapping up the shoot of rural comedy Seemaraja, Siva will soon commence work on his next project with director Rajesh produced by Studio Green. He also has a science-fiction film with director Ravi Kumar for which music director AR Rahman in on-board.

On donning the producer’s hat, he said in a statement: “Arun is very talented, and he had shown the glimpse of promise as a director when he was a student itself. When he narrated this script to me I was able to connect as I also hail from a middle-class family. The dreams and ambitions of the protagonist set against the sports backdrop are very inspiring. I believe this will be a genuinely good sports film.”
