Siddaganga math seer Dr Shivakumara Swamiji was conferred with the Padma Bhushan Award at the math premises on Wednesday, reported Deccan Herald.The seer, who had turned 108 on April 1, was unable to make it to the award function held in Delhi due to his ill-health, said Additional Chief Secretary V Umesh who presented the award on behalf of the President.The mutt which had arranged for a formal public function, had to cancel following orders from Rashtrapati Bhavan which said that there was no provision for holding public functions for the distribution of Padma Awards, the report added.
