Sandalwood superstar Shiva Rajkumar and director Harsha have given two hit films – Bhajarangi and Vajrakaya – so far and are now set to team up again. This time it will be for My Name is Anji. With their third time collaboration, fans are hoping for a hat trick from this duo.
Touted to be a commercial entertainer, My Name is Anji will be bankrolled by Jayanna and Bogendra under the banner Jayanna Films. Reports indicate that the groundwork for this film is on and that the shooting will begin in June this year.
Meanwhile, Shiva Rajkumar’s next film release will be Kavacha. The film is in the post-production stage and its release date is expected to be announced officially soon. Directed by GVR Vasu, the movie is bankrolled by MVV Sathyanarayanan under the banner Hayagriva Movie Adishtana. A remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Oppam that was directed by ace director Priyadarshan, Shiva Rajkumar will be seen playing a blind man in this movie. Kruthika Jayakumar plays the lead opposite Shiva Rajkumar in the movie. The star cast also includes Isha Koppikar, Baby Meenakshi and Vasishta N Simha in pivotal roles. Rahul Shrivastav is cranking the camera for the film and the music is composed by Arjun Janya.
The star is currently busy with Rustum, a Ravi Varma directorial. The film is produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner Jayanna Combines. Shraddha Srinath has been roped in to play the female lead in it and Mayuri will be seen as Shiva Rajkumar’s sister. A romantic action entertainer, Rustum will mark the directorial debut of ace stunt master Ravi Varma. Anoop Seelin is scoring the music for this movie and Mahendra Simha is wielding the camera.
The star also has the P Vasu directorial Anand, Luck Gopal’s SRK and Pramod Chakravarthy’s Drona needing his attention.
