The icon of Kannada cinema, Shiva Rajkumar is one of the busiest stars who has about five film releases per year. With back-to-back hits to his credit, the star is undeniably the Century Star of Sandalwood. In the meantime, his blockbuster hit film Muthanna all set for a re-release, and the star, in an exclusive interview to the Deccan Chronicle had said:

“It was my first ever film, where I played a dual role. I fond memories associated with Muthanna which was released in October 1994, which went on to become a huge hit. It was an honour to have worked in the film, which was actually a remake of Bollywood’s legend Rajesh Khanna’s  blockbuster, Saccha Jhutha. The song Meri Pyari Behna from the film is still one of the evergreen Hindi songs. It was even made in Tamil as Ninaithadhai Mudippavan with MG Ramachandran. It feels great that some of my favourite works are getting re-released, and films like Muthanna have greater relevance as they shed light upon family sentiments and the special bond shared by a brother and a sister. (sic)”

In the interview, Shiva Rajkumar had said that he wished some of the best film’s in his career such as Janumada Jodi, Midida Shruthi and Inspector Vikram are also re-released so that the fans can enjoy it once again.

Release on October 7, 1994, Muthanna was directed by MS Rajashekar. It starred Shiva Rajkumar in the lead role with Shashikumar, Doddanna, Thoogudeepa Srinivas, and Girija Lokesh in important roles. Hamsalekha had composed the tunes for this film. Muthanna’s re-release will give the star’s fans to catch him in action with the blockbuster hit!
