It has been a few hours since the news of veteran actor Sridevi’s death came, in the wee hours of Sunday. And fans of the actor and her friends and colleagues in the various film industries across the country are grieving the untimely death of the 54-year-old.

Actors Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth expressed their condolences on the passing away of Sridevi, so did several others from the south Indian film industries, including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR, Trisha, Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, Andrea Jeremiah, SS Rajamouli – who remembered Sridevi for her contribution to the film industries.

While many such as Bollywood actors Alia Bhat and Akshay Kumar expressed their shock at the 54-year-old’s untimely demise, many others like Anupam Kher, director-producer Mahesh Bhatt and author Chetan Bhagat remembered her in their own way.

Cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, BJP MP Kirron Kher and Miss World 2017 pageant winner Manushi Chhillar also took to social media to send out condolences.

The most overwhelming sentiment seemed to be that of shock.
