The News Minute| September 11, 2014| 8.00 am IST DMK Treasurer MK Stalin has denied all reports of rifts between him and his father M Karunanidhi. In a statement, Stalin said, "Stop efforts to drive a wedge between me, party president (Karunanidhi) and cadres." Recently, reports had surfaced that all was not well between father and son, and Karunanidhi had even attempted to clip Stalin's wings by asking Kalaignar TV and Murasoli (DMK mouthpiece) to not cover weddings and birthday parties where Stalin spoke. Stalin also rejected reports of dissent within the family and said there were no 'inimical' persons, in a reference to Alagiri and Kanimozhi who are perceived to be part of anti-Stalin camp. Stalin accused a section of media for creating a rift in the party and said no results came out of the effort to create a rift.
