Late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa’s, close friend Sasikala’s nephew Jeyanandh Dhivakaran has announced that director N Lingusamy will be directing a biopic on the leader.

This biopic will throw light on Sasikala and Natarajan’s close association with J Jayalalithaa and the story will be told from their perspective. Director Lingusamy will be doing a lot of research and getting inputs from several politicians who were closely associated with the legendary leader who passed away a couple of years ago.

Interestingly, three other directors have announced biopic on J Jayalalithaa so far - Bharathi Raja, AL Vijay, and Priyadarshini.

Director Priyadarshini had revealed the title logo of her upcoming biopic few weeks ago. The title logo was unveiled by noted director and producer AR Murugadoss on his Twitter handle. He wrote: “Extremely happy and excited to launch the Title poster of #Jayalalithaabiopic #THEIRONLADY I wish @priyadhaarshini and team for a grand success..”

Nithya Menen has been roped in to play the leader onscreen. Aptly titled as The Iron Lady, the film will concentrate on J Jayalalithaa’s political journey and the challenges she underwent during her tenures as the CM.

The film comes with the tagline: “A story of a revolutionary leader.” The poster of the film also has a quote made by Hillary Clinton on Jayalalitha: “She is incomparable and strong determined leader, and she has been an embodiment of women empowerment.”

Producer Vishnu Induri revealed that a biopic on J Jayalalithaa will be directed by AL Vijay and the groundwork for it has begun. Also, Bharathi Raja’s biopic will be bankrolled by Bharadwaj.

While Bharathiraja is looking to rope in either Aishwarya Rai or Anushka for the role, Trisha and Nayanthara have expressed their desire to play Jayalalitha onscreen.
