Samsung has brought to the Indian mobile phone market, a mid-segment phone the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2.
With a 5.5-inch full HD display and a screen resolution reading 1080x1920pixels, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 has a screen density of 401ppi and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The display screen gets a Corning Gorilla Glass protection as well. The phone has a full-metal unibody design and its dimensions are 151.7mmx75mmx8 mm and its weight 170gms.
An octa-core, 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 processor will be the CPU and the new Samsung phone will have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. A slot for the microSD card that can take the storage up to 256GB is also part of the specs. Identical 13MP sensors with a f/1.9 aperture lens adorn the rear and front camera setups. Samsung has opted to stay with the older Android Nougat, version 7.0 as the OS for this phone.
A 3300mAh Li-ion non-removable battery provides the power and Samsung claims 21hours talk time with this battery on the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2.
All sensors and communications features are on board. The fingerprint sensor in mounted on the front screen. The Samsung ‘Pay Mini’ come pre-loaded on this device. Samsung Pay is the company’s digital payment offering where users can send money to wallets using phone number, scan QR codes and pay, and even make bill payments. Samsung Pay mini also allows UPI-based payments.
There’s also the “Make for India” feature, which is a Samsung Mall accessible on the device. This is the electronics major’s ecommerce solution that allows users to shop from various ecommerce websites using visual search.
Samsung is selling the new phone through its offline stores in India in 2 colours, Black and Gold and the price is Rs 13,990.
