On the trailer launch, he wrote, “Very happy to present to you the trailer of #UTurn. @Samanthaprabhu2 always takes the path less taken and succeeds! And this time is no different. Kudos and best wishes to Pawan and the whole team.”

The bilingual film has Samantha, Adhi Pinisetty and Rahul Ravindran in the lead roles.

The film is a remake of a Kannada film of the same name directed by Pawan Kumar that hit the marquee in 2016 and had turned out to be a major hit. A mystery thriller, U Turn had Shraddha Srinath, Radhika Chetan, Dileep Raj and Roger Narayan in the star cast.

With the Tamil and Telugu versions of U Turn gearing up for a Vinayaka Chathurthi release, the director has plans to remake to the film in Hindi as well. But sources in the know say that the producer to bankroll the film in Hindi has not been finalised yet. However, it is reported that Pawan Kumar will be donning the director’s robes for the Hindi remake as well. The cast has not been signed up as yet as well.

Written and directed by Pawan Kumar, U Turn was bankrolled by him under his banner Pawan Kumar Studios on a budget of Rs 2.5 crore. The film was both a commercial as well as critical success. The technical crew of U Turn comprised Poornachandra Tejaswi for scoring the music, cinematographers Advaitha Gurumurthy, Sathya Hegde and Siddharth Suni cranking the camera and Suresh Armugam for editing.
