After Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby North and Beyoncé and Jay-Z's baby Blue, guess who's raising eyebrows with their baby name?
It's Bollywood's very own Saif and Kareena.
Blessed with a baby boy on Tuesday morning, the new parents have decided to name their new-born after a 14th Century tyrant ruler: Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. Director-producer Karan Johar made the announcement on Twitter.
My Bebo had a baby boy!!!!!!! Am so so happy!!!!!!! #TaimurAliKhan

It may be a royal name which makes you sit up and pay attention, but Twitterati are rather aghast at this peculiar choice.
Take a look at some of the reactions:

Let us say a Hollywood couple names their kid Adolf. You know, all rulers were bad in their own ways - and stuff. What would happen then?

Indians have not drawn the appropriate red lines for our popular culture discourse; symbolic of our national integration (or lack there of).

Timur Lang, or Timurlane as he was known, was a Turco-Mongol ruler who invaded India in 1398 after a victorious sweep over Persia, Mesopotamia and Asia minor.
Driven to conquer India for its wealth, Timur's invasion was characterised by plunder and slaughter of inhabitants. His vast empire was known as a Timurid empire.
According to these Twitter user however, Taimur is not merely a reference to the emperor but a word in Turkish language which means "iron" or an extremely strong substance.
Taimur means 'like iron'. If you're going to talk about names of warmongers, you can't name your child Arjun, Ashok, Richard, Edward etc.

Taimur is a not an Arabic name, but rather a name from the Turkish language, and its means an ‘iron’ or an extremely strong substance.
