As IIT Madras revoked the ban on the APSC, the RSS mouthpiece Organiser has issued a sharp attack on the student body and the NSUI of the Congress over propagating an “anti-Hindu” and “anti-Bharat” ideology. An editorial in the weekly said that all educational institutions had a “Marxist” or “red ideology”. A report in The Indian Express mentions that the article also attacked Congress VP Rahul Gandhi for appropriating BR Ambekar’s legacy and indulging in vote-bank politics. Gandhi had earlier visited the Ambedkar memorial in Mhow in Madhya Pradesh. The article also said that the action taken against the APSC by IIT-Madras was justified. Using college symbols amounted to “indiscipline”, it said. “Recent issues of administrative disciplinary action against the Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle (APSC) in IIT-Madras and Rahul Gandhi visiting Ambedkar’s birth memorial are similar attempts to mask great nationalist reformers like Babasaheb with Communist garb of class divisions or the Congress’ way of vote-bank politics,” the editorial said. Calling Ambedkar a “confirmed enemy of Communists”, the piece added that “forums such as APSC to propagate anti-Hindu and anti-Bharat divisive ideology, which Dr Ambedkar would have never approved of.” The weekly’s cover story ‘Poisoning Student Politics’ accused the APSC and the Congress’ student wing, the NSUI of spreading “hatred and disorder.” It added that NSUI’s leader, Rahul Gandhi was misrepresenting facts about the RSS and trying to show them in a bad light.
