In a startling move, the RSS in its annual report, spoke in favour of discussion and dialogue on the issue of entry of women in temples across the country.

The Times of India reported that the annual report said men and women are equal partners in religious and spiritual matters.

This statement is in contradiction with the stance taken by the body in February when it spoke largely in favor of the ban barring women from entering the inner sanctum of the Shani Shingnapur temple.

However, the Sangh advocated the issue should be settled through talks rather than agitations.

According to the TOI report, the outfit's national general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi deemed the issue sensitive and pledged to bring about a change of public mindset through discourse and further discussion.

He called for discussion and dialogue between temple leadership and social leaders and create a change in the public mindset on the matter.

RSS also termed its ‘atheist’ critics to be selectively biased against Hindus.
