In the context of RSS backing women’s entry in all temples of the country, Kerala BJP president Kummanam Rajasekharan said that RSS’s declaration was in a different context and some quarters are trying to make unnecessary controversies out of it.

“Some are trying to make a controversy out of the RSS report presented at its all-India representatives' meeting. The report was presented in the backdrop of agitations against denial of entry to women in Saneeswara temple and Thrayambakeswara temple in Maharashtra. The RSS has only expressed its angst over the continuance of sex and caste-based prejudices,“ he said, according to The Times of India.

Earlier Travancore Devaswom Board president Prayar Gopalakrishnan has also opposed RSS’s stand in temple entry.

“Sabarimala is not a place where entry is denied to women. There is only some restrictions for women in certain age group. The RSS and BJP share the same view that the sex and caste-based prejudices ruin the unity of Hindu society . The Hindu society has never denied anything to anybody for being women,“ Kummanam added as per ToI report.

He said that devotees and temple priests will decide whether women should Sabarimala and no one can make controversy out of it.
