A right-wing activist was found dead in Magali in Mysuru district on Friday evening.

Family of the activist, who has been identified as Magali Ravi and was reportedly found dead with head injuries, allege that he was murdered, reported PTI.

Meanwhile, based on the scratch marks on the two-wheeler, the police suspect that Ravi could have met with an accident.

However, the police have registered a case under IPC section 302.

Ravi, who is linked to both BJP and RSS, was reportedly returning from a ‘Peace’ meeting organised by the police department ahead of Tipu Sultan Jayanti. Members of RSS too allege that this was a murder.

"The incident leading to his death has occurred around 8:30 pm on Friday, prima facie it looks like an accident. However, the family and others suspect it to be a murder, investigation is on, we will be looking at all aspects," said Additional SP, Mysuru, Kala Krishnaswamy.

Ravi's father Jawarappa reportedly alleged that it was a murder as it looked as though someone had attacked on his head using a machete.

In a statement, Karnataka BJP President B S Yeddyurappa said,"…his murder is in line with series of killings of activists belonging to pro-Hindu organisations."

Less than a month ago RSS activist Rudresh was murdered in Bengaluru. Five people including PFI Bengaluru district president was arrested in connection to the murder.
