Atom Tech Review Thursday, April 06, 2017 - 08:47

If you are keen on carrying a lighter device that is a cross between a big tablet and a small laptop, then the Asus VivoBook E200HA Notebook might just be the choice. The major features the product is being highlighted for are a) its weight – less than a kilo and b) the battery that can last up to 13 hours on a single charge, even with videos running. So it makes for a nice device to carry around and use the whole working day. What’s more, you can get a year’s use of Office 365, free.

Quad Core Processor from Intel

The Asus VivoBook E200HA Notebook has, at its heart, an Intel Atom X5-Z8350 processor and as mentioned, the display is 11.6inches. The Notebook has a RAM of 2GB and cloud storage of 500GB (free for 2 years). The SSD is 32GB mainly to accommodate the OS and other important programmes. The OS is Windows 10 out of the box and has the latest Wi-Fi version 802.11ac. According to Asus, this is thrice faster than the previous version 802.11n.

Sights and SoundsTru2Life Technology

The Asus VivoBook E200HA Notebook also has a much-improved display with its proprietary Tru2Life technology and stands out in terms of colour and clarity and being easy on the eyes. Similarly, the sound department is bolstered by Asus’ SonicMaster Audio Technology that delivers excellent audio results.

Sufficiently large keys and touchpad

For a Notebook of this size, Asus has managed to fit in a keyboard that does not pose any difficulty while typing. The Asus VivoBook E200HA Notebook has the touchscreen feature as well as allowing for comfortable modifications being made, while reading from the screen using the fingers and gestures. This experience is delivered through a combination of the hardware and software technologies. For a device that is positioned as a basic one for daily duties, these features do add some value while making one’s choice of purchasing the device.

The Notebook comes with one USB2.0 port and 1 USB3.0 port and of course the provision for a microSD slot and a micro-HDMI socket.

The Overall Assessment

Expert reviews clearly concede that for the price point and other hardware limitations, the Asus VivoBook E200HA Notebook is quite passable in that slot. Except for some issues in the display department and low storage of 32GB, most other functions and features, when tested, have been found to be true to the claims made by the manufacturer.

Asus VivoBook E200HA Notebook can be ordered in India online through Amazon or picked up from any of Asus’ resellers. The indicative price is around Rs.16,000.
