Jio’s broadband service, JioFiber will announce tariffs to the public on Thursday, September 5. Jio announced that it would be extending its wired broadband service to homes, merchants, small and medium enterprises and large enterprises simultaneously across 1,100 cities. The company has also claimed to offer speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Here is everything you need to know:

How to register: Click here to enter JioFiber’s website. Enter your full address, fill out your details, enter the OTP, and you’re good to go. If you are a Jio user, you can also register from the MyJio app. After registration, a Jio executive will reach out to you for the connection.

Plans: A refundable deposit of Rs 2,500 is applicable. Subscription plans start at Rs 700, which offers 100 Mbps. The plans go all the way upto Rs 10,000. The entire range of plans will be unveiled on Thursday.

GigaTV set-top box: Reliance also announced the GigaTV set-top-box along with JioFiber, which will offer internet-based digital content services to consumers. It will also give them access to Jio’s app suite. This service will be voice-enabled and will allow users to give voice commands in various Indian languages. This set-top-box is touted to come with advanced features such as video calling feature, allowing users to make video calls from their televisions. However, there is no information on how it would function since TVs don’t come with in-built cameras.

Free TV, free calling: According to the company’s announcements, JioFiber customers who opt for annual plans also get a HD or 4K LED television, and a 4K set-top box absolutely free.

Mobile and fixed line calls from home to any Indian operator are also set to be free forever, according to Ambani.  It also announced an unlimited US/Canada voice calling pack at Rs 500 per month.

Mukesh Ambani earlier claimed that it will boost smart home solutions for consumers, empower small and large businesses to use digital tools and techniques.
