When Zeshan Ali Khan sent his job application to a private firm, he surely expected a reply stating his acceptance or rejection. Instead, he got a reply saying that the firm does not hire Muslims. An MBA graduate, Khan was looking for a job and along with his friends he too sent his resume to Hare Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd, a leading diamond export firm based in Mumbai with global presence. His friends got placed immediately and he got a shocking reply and initially considered it as a joke, he told The Hindu. After putting up his experience on Facebook, that outraged many, a “regret” e-mail was sent to Khan. The mail was sent by Mahendra S. Deshmukh, Associate VP & Head-HR of the company, and clarified that the company does not discriminate against candidates on the basis of gender, caste, religion, etc. it further added that “This erroneous email was sent by my colleague Mrs. Dipika Tike who has joined recently and is still on training.”At a time where the Prime Minister is boasting of high growth rates and foreign investment, here’s a rather unfortunate case of a citizen being denied a job in his own country on the grounds of religion. This incident has enraged not just Khan but many others. People have taken to Twitter to voice out their opinions.Safai abhiyan should be started with cleaning mindsets of people running hare krishna expos who rejected Zeeshan Khan because he is Muslim — Mohsin Khan (@mohsinnow) May 21, 2015Zeeshan Khan, look in what a vibrant secular country we live. Nothing could be more apt in marking the first anniversary of #feku govt  — Amitava Gupta (@amiamitava) May 21, 2015Hare Krishna Exports was in media last Diwali for giving cars to employees, now they are in media for refusing a job to Zeeshan Khan — Aun Ajani (@Aun_X) May 21, 2015Khan even got a job offer on Twitter Zeeshan Khan we have a job for you, feel free to get in touch with us. — iPlus TV (@iPlusTvLive) May 21, 2015While Khan has many supporters, there were others on the opposite side of the argument. My company my rules, I pay taxes, I employ people. Its upto me who I find, and who is not fitting the profile. take a walk zeeshan khan. — मिर्चा ग़ालिब (@mirchagalib) May 21, 2015Its very hypocrite of Media to cover Zeeshan Khan story, I know many companies who accept only Muslims candidates. Care to report it? — Panun Kashmir (@WandererSS6) May 21, 2015If Media is covering Zeeshan Khan's case who was denied job 'cause he's muslim, also cover why Hindus aren't allowed in Muslim ghetto areas. — Devika (@Dayweekaa) May 21, 2015  Video of lfzFIZ7wqxI
