Tollywood star Rana Daggubati will play an important role in director Gautham Menon and Dhanush’s first film together, Yennai Nokki Paayum Thotta (YNPT), say sources.
Apparently, the director roped in the star with the intention of releasing the film in Telugu as well; however, there is no official word on it yet from the filmmakers. Sources point out that Gautham carved out a very meaty role and wanted a good performer for it.
Rana fitted the bill perfectly as he is a well-known face in the Tamil film industry, having shared screen space with Ajith in Arrambam. His noteworthy performances in Baahubali and Bangalore Naatkal, which was the remake of the Malayalam hit flick Bangalore Days, has also reportedly fetched him the offer, say sources.
The shooting of YNPT commenced in Chennai recently.

YNPT is set to be wrapped up quickly as Dhanush is gearing up to join the sets of his first Hollywood flick in the month of June this year.
