With its core theme being cyber crime, Social is expected to be a racy thriller that will have the audiences glued to their seats.

Baahubali star Rana Daggubati is all set to enter a new stage in his career. He has been signed up for a web series that will go live on the platform known as Viu. Interestingly, this will be India’s first bilingual web series. 

Titled as Social, it will focus on people’s fascination towards the social media. Touted to be a thriller, Social will be made in Telugu and Hindi, we hear. To be directed by Sashi Sudigala, it will also have Naveen Kasturia and Priya Banerjee in pivotal roles. The web series will discuss in detail about the positives and negatives of the social media, say sources and Rana will be seen playing the lead role. According to reports, the web series will comprise 11 or 12 episodes.

Rana, the grandson of noted producer D Rama Naidu and son of producer D Suresh Babu, made his acting debut in 2010 with the film Leader. Since then, he has starred in a number of blockbusters including Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Baahubali: the Beginning, Rudramadevi, Baahubali: the Conclusion, The Ghazi Attack and the recently released Nene Raju Nene Mantri.

This year has been particularly good for the star as his films, The Ghazi Attack, Baahubali: the Conclusion and Nene Raju Nene Mantri have all done well at the box office. He is currently busy with films such as Madai Thiranthu / 1948, a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously and the Gautham Menon directorial Enai Noki Paayum Thota.
