Superstar Rajinikanth likes to support good films. Having heard great things about recently released medical thriller Kuttram 23, he arranged a special screening of the film on Wednesday and watched it.

Apparently, the 66-year-old star was touched by the film and he liked it so much that he appreciated the entire team for producing something inspiring and equally entertaining. He particularly heaped praise on actor Arun Vijay for playing a cop with élan and director Arivazhagan for handling the subject with maturity.

In theatre, the film is growing from strength to strength and it addresses a very important issue about crimes associated with artificial insemination. The film’s story is based on a novel by Rajesh Kumar, who had written it based on some real events. Arun Vijay won over audiences and critics alike with his excellent performance and finally scored a much deserved hit. Arivazhagan, post the debacle of Aarathu Sinam, bounced back strongly with Kuttram 23, proving he’s a filmmaker to watch out for.

Talks have already been initiated for the film’s remake in Telugu. Actor Sudheer Babu has expressed interest to be a part of the remake and he has already contacted the original producers. Given the great run the film is having at the box-office, it wouldn’t be surprising if the film manages to find its way to Bollywood.
