The release of superstar Rajinikanth’s film Kabali has been pushed back to a later date. It was initially planned for a May release after the Tamil Nadu elections.

Even the teaser has been pushed to the third week of April. Earlier it was planned that the teaser would come along with actor Vijay's Theri, after which the audio launch date was to be confirmed.

Fans who were eagerly waiting for the teaser of 'Kabali' are upset over the delay. The shooting was wrapped up last month and post-production work is on in full swing.

While speaking about Kabali, editor Praveen KL says, “The editing works are on in full swing and the second half will be wrapped up very soon.”

He adds, "Superstar's intro in Kabali will be entirely different and the first fight in the film is a short sequence which will establish his character in the film. It will show what he is and what he has done as a don. But the way he fights and the manner in which he delivers the dialogues, Superstar's performance will be at a whole new level".

Kabali’s business is already doing well with rights for Malaysia and US being sold for a huge price. Now trade sources say that the producer of Kabali, Thanu will be opting for a direct release in most of the areas in Tamil Nadu. The Chennai rights have been bagged by SPI Cinemas.
