Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who has been in the US for a few weeks, is expected to return to India on Wednesday, two days before “Kabali” is scheduled to release.

The actor will resume shooting for “2.0” from the first week of August. He was supposed to join the team of “2.0” in the beginning of July but the plan got postponed after he suffered health issues.

Rajinikanth will join Akshay Kumar in the latest schedule of “2.0”, which is currently on the floors in Chennai. While the film is speculated to be the sequel to director Shankar’s 2010 film, “Enthiran”, sound designer, Result Pookutty denied this. In an interview to a web portal, the Oscar-winner revealed that some characters from “Enthiran” may be extended in “2.0” but the film isn’t exactly a sequel and needs to be as a standalone project.

The makers recently roped in popular Bollywood actor Adil Hussain, who reportedly plays a pivotal role in the film. The budget of the film is reportedly Rs. 350 crore..
