Following the success of his film Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Director Jibu Jacob is in talks with big names in the industry over the remake rights of the film. The Director has reportedly said that if the film were to be remade in Tamil, then Rajinikanth would be his first choice for the lead role.

Director Jibu Jacob has even expressed the desire to wield the megaphone himself, according to reports, if Rajinikanth were to act in the film.

The Mohanlal starrer released on the 20th of January and has been successful in the box office. Following this there have been discussion to procure remake rights in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

While there was speculation that actor Venkatesh will reprise Mohanlal's role in Telugu, the reports remain unconfirmed.

With the Director of the hit film reportedly expressing his desire to direct Rajinikanth in the Tamil remake, it needs to be seen what the Superstar's reaction will be.

Incidentally, Rajini’s Chandramukhi and Muthu were remake of Malayalam films that had Mohanlal in the lead.
