Nadigar Sangam’s star cricket match has a surprise for all. Actor Rajinikanth will be bowling the first ball of the tournament and it is rumoured that Kamal Hassan might also play for a team.
In a bid to raise funds for its plans of constructing a new building, Nadigar Sangam is conducting a fund raising star cricket match which is happening on April 17, 2016, at M.A.Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.
The new building will be developed at an expense of Rs 26 crore.
The event will be star stunned as 48 actors from various states are a part of the event “Almost all popular actors will be part of this initiative and attempts are on to bring even actor Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith and Vijay on board,” sources said.
The telecast rights of the match are bagged by Sun TV Network at a cost of Rs. 9 crores.
The event will also be attended by Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi and Malayalam actor Mammootty.
The game will be played by eight teams containing six-star players in each and it will be of the super sixes format.
Vishal, Surya, Dhanush, Jeeva, Vishnu and other stars will be captains of different teams. Teams are going to be named as Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, etc. It will also have actress Nayanthara, Kajal Agarwal, Samantha, Trisha and other actors as brand ambassadors.
Other bodies of Tamil film industry have offered their support to the Nadigar Sangam meeting and cancelled shootings on that day.
